As a native of Dagenham (though I don't live there any more) one very short (and, as yet, uncoherently argued) point I want to make is that Hodge should be forced to resign as MP for Barking: she has done absolutely nothing for her constituents, has an extremely limited concern, if any, for their needs or situation, and (VERY unlike Cruddas in Dagenham) is barely present on the ground in her constituency. She should be held fully responsible for the way that her negligent conduct as MP has led to this disgraceful growth in electoral support for the far right.

Excellent points, although I think it is just scaremongering, at least on the part of Labour, who are running out of ghouls to frighten us with. I accept your point about the underlying situation, though, which is well made.
