January 27th, 2004Nick Brown has joined the Government’s side in tonight’s vote. Good news for Tony Blair, infuriating for the rebels no doubt. What did the Government do to convince him - the Government’s concession to hold a review on impact on middle-income homes seems a bit too weak. Has Nick Brown’s chum Gordon Brown (no relation) done another deal with Blair? The Scotsman thinks so - but will Blair keep his word?
