I don’t know what in the news is the least surprising - that the Butler enquiry was a whitewash (no-one to blame, how convenient), or that the BNP is full of racists and thugs.

I’m constantly surprised that the BNP are stupid enough to be caught being racist thugs on camera. Their thin veneer of legitimacy relies on them being able to say “we’re not racist we’re merely pro-’British’.” Footage like this exposes them for what they really are and for that reason it is newsworthy.

Alex - “surprised that the BNP are stupid”? The only thing less surprising than their stupidity is their racism. Every time they are interviewed they fail to hide either their racism or stupidity, hence the BBC’s claim that they had “exposed” them yesterday was perhaps the least interesting piece of investigative journalism this year.
What next? Will they “expose” John Prescott as quite liking doughnuts? Tell us something we don’t know!
The BNP get a ridiculous amount of airtime given their consistently poor electoral performaces. For sure they should be allowed their say, but why the obsession with a bunch of freakish no-hopers?
We certainly shouldn’t ignore the threat of the BNP, but exaggerating it serves only their purposes.
