Academic bloggage
September 27th, 2004Last Thursday’s Guardian Online had an article on academics blogging about the progress of their work. Despite the fact I’ve just started studying for my MSc, which will involve writing essays and things, and it’s about the social aspects of science & technology, and I’m a blogger, the thought never really occurred to me (or maybe I subsconsciously suprressed the idea on the grounds that it would be too dull) that I could use the blog to talk about my academic work.
So…when I start writing essays proper (not until mid-semester), I may start publishing thoughts about the topics I’m writing about, partly as they are interesting (to me), and partly so I can as as a sort of scratchpad for my ideas and thoughts. Before then, I may bore you with some of the seminar presentations I also have to make. I will try to make them interesting, promise!
Note to self: I need to sort out some sort of category facility on the blog, so it’s easier to navigate through eclectic topics, either that or just port the whole damn thing over to Movable Type and stop worrying about coding once and for all…
