Undeserved like Liverpool beating the better team (Arsenal) in 2001 final? Undeserved like ManU beating Bayern in the dying minutes of the Champs League final?
Yes, we weren’t the best side. No, we didn’t deserve to win. Yes, Rooney and ronaldo ran us ragged on the wings. Am I embarrassed we won? No.
We got outplayed, but we won. It’s not the first time it’s ever happened, and it won’t be the last. But I’m not going to quietly shuffle off after the match because we didn’t display 7-0-tumping-of-Everton qualities. I’m going to celebrate, deserved victory or not. My team won, the other team lost. At the end of the day, no matter how they play, that’ll do for me. I’m certainly not embarrassed.
(Oh dear, I appear to have frothed at the mouth a bit, nothing personal!)
