Flash blog reader

This is an experimental Flash blogreader. The textboxes float over each other at different ‘depths’ and their position will respond to your mouse movement. Move your mouse towards the box you want to see and it will drift towards you. Clicking on a box should bring it to the top. The hyperlinks inside the boxes work, and you can scroll up or down by clicking on the arrow buttons.

The interface is a bit tricky, and this may not be entirely to your taste, or it might run slowly on your machine. If you don’t like it then try the more normal HTML version.

If you cannot see anything above you might not have Flash 6 or later installed - please visit the Flash Download Page and follow the instructions.

A few technical notes. The Flash reader is parsing the RSS feed of my blog, and inserting it into the movey boxes. It also adds the title and any form field input that the channel has specified (in this case a search option).

Annoyingly, the Flash security model forbids you from loading anything from other than your own domain, so this reader can’t look at other RSS feeds. I may do some sort of redirection-through-this-site getaround, if the bandwidth is not a problem…
